The SkyTab POS 1.62.1 release has plenty of new and exciting features to offer our customers. There are many quality-of-life improvements designed to help staff in day-to-day activities, as well as other changes designed to streamline operations.
Here are some of the highlights of this release:
We changed the term “Guest” with “Seat” on printed kitchen slips. Most businesses use the seat terminology in their kitchen environments, and this improvement will help reduce errors when preparing and plating food.
- Tickets printed in the kitchen will display seat numbers instead of guest numbers. This is only a change to the labeling – guest and seat are interchangeable terms – but the receipts will print as shown:
We added a long press gesture to the Send button when entering an order to give employees more options for how the ticket should be handled. When you press and hold the Send button during the order entry process, you can now choose between three options:
Send & Stay - this is most commonly used when an employee wants to send part of an order, such as an appetizer, back to the kitchen to be prepared while the rest of the order is collected and entered.
Send & Continue - is normally used when the order has been taken and is ready to be prepared by the kitchen.
Send & Logout - is most commonly used on shared stations. It is used to prevent another user from creating a new ticket with the wrong login.
Now users can double-tap on a ticket in the ticket grid to open an order. This quality-of-life improvement makes the process of opening a ticket much faster using a gesture everyone is used to doing. There are no more sequences of buttons to open a ticket from the grid, just double-tap it and it opens.
Users can double-tap on a ticket in the Ticket Grid to open it. Current behavior on a single tap will not change – the ticket can be single-tapped and opened by pressing the OPEN button after selecting the ticket from the grid.
We improved the way guest count is managed. These improvements remove some of the cumbersome button pressing sequences in the POS in favor of streamlined operations.
Tap on Guest Count Label to Change: You can now change the number of guests by tapping on the Guest Count itself and entering the correct number on the keypad:
