Description: When an order is completed, the assigned notification type will be sent to your guests, ensuring they are promptly informed.
Note: You must set up guest notifications for your KDS station on SkyTab POS.
Complete an Order
When an order is completed at the KDS station, the system automatically triggers the guest notification you have set up on SkyTab POS.
Notification Sent
The notification type (e.g., SMS, email, etc.) assigned to the order type will be sent to the guest. Ensure that the guest's contact information is correctly entered into the system.
Troubleshoot When the Notify Customer Button is Grayed Out
If the Notify Customer button is grayed out:
- Ensure Guest Notifications are set up correctly.
Note: Ensure the correct Order Type is selected for the ticket by navigating to Manager > Settings > Hardware > Printers/KDS > Guest Notifications. If the order type is not pre-defined to receive SMS notifications in Guest Notification settings, the Notify Customer button will be grayed out. - If the issue persists after confirming that the Guest Notification setup is correct and the correct order type is selected, confirm that the customer is associated with the ticket by opening the ticket, selecting the blue Open Ticket button at the bottom left corner of the ticket, and pressing the blue User Icon at the top right corner of the opened ticket.
- If the issue persists after confirming the ticket has the customer assigned to it, ensure the customer has the phone number associated with the customer profile.
- If the customer phone number is not pre-defined, the Notify Customer button will be grayed out.
- If the issue persists, clear storage on the SkyTab KDS and Resend KDS Configuration.
Guest Notifications should work as intended if all the troubleshooting steps have been completed.
