Description: This document comprehensively lists Grubhub’s limitations and unsupported features when integrated with Shift4 Marketplace. Please review these limitations to understand the scope and constraints of our current integration capabilities.
General Points and Limitations
With the Shift4 integration, all Grubhub platform features are fully operational. However, merchants should note the following restrictions regarding online orders.
- Tax Limitation
- An item cannot combine flat and percentage taxes; otherwise, it will not sync to Grubhub.
- An item cannot have more than 30% tax in total; otherwise, the item will not sync to Grubhub.
- Future Orders
- Future Orders will be temporarily disabled for all merchants and is expected to be re-enabled by September 30, 2024.
- Menu
- Department overlap—If two departments with the same items have overlapping schedules, the schedule names will be appended to their names in Grubhub.
- Alcohol items will need to have the alcohol label set in Menu Manager.
- Order
- Activating Self-Delivery: If self-delivery is desired, please notify Grubhub during onboarding.
- Order Cancellations and Modifications are not yet supported.
- Order Discounts are not yet supported.
- Onboarding
- Merchants must have a Grubhub account before installing the Marketplace app. They will need to provide their Grubhub Restaurant Store ID when filling out the onboarding form. For instructions on how to find your restaurant’s store ID, visit How to locate your restaurant's store ID.
- Once Grubhub has successfully onboarded the merchant’s account, Shift4 will complete its part of the integration by pushing the online menu from Menu Manager to Grubhub.
- This integration does not support merchants using Grubhub Direct, Grubhub Catering, or Scheduled Team Orders. Grubhub Direct will be supported in a future release.
- Grubhub processes installation requests manually each week. Shift4 merchants must install the Grubhub app from the Marketplace by Friday to ensure onboarding is completed by the following Monday.
- Merchants must disconnect existing Grubhub integrations from third-party services or previous POS systems.
- Merchants must stop using the Grubhub Order Management App (or tablet) when utilizing the direct POS integration.
Data Integrity Certification
This document certifies that the integration between Grubhub and Shift4 has been successfully tested and validated. The integration consumes and processes the following data endpoints:
- Menu API v3
- Order API v3
