Description: QR ordering is a FREE contactless method of ordering food at the table as well as completing the payment. Review the setup and user flow of QR ordering below.
Setup
Setup is required before using the QR ordering feature both on Lighthouse and the POS.
Important: SkyTab POS must be on version 1.17.x or higher.
Refer to Online Ordering Setup on SkyTab POS for instructions on setting up QR Ordering.
To setup SkyTab POS:
From the SkyTab POS, go to Manager > Business > Marketplace to set up all appropriate order types and taxes.
For default setup Pickup, Delivery, and Dine In order types would need to be selected unless you would like to track Marketplace sales separately.
Menu
QR ordering utilizes a menu from the online store that is located under Marketplace settings.
Important: QR ordering is designed to accommodate Dine In pricing therefore, it will always use the prices that are specified on the POS instead of the online store.
Usage
Customer places order
The customer scans the QR Code with their phone and is redirected to the menu page. The first thing they will enter is the table number if they did not use a table-specific QR code.
After entering the table number, the menu displays and the customer can proceed to create an order.
After creating an order, the customer then clicks Checkout and enters their information on the next page.
After they have entered their information, payment method, and tip, the customer would press Pay Now, and if paying with credit, enter their credit card information.
Important: Tips can only be added at the checkout screen. There is no way to add tips after payment is completed.
Order received and processed on POS
After the order is paid, it will be sent to the POS and appear as an online order which will automatically print in the kitchen.
The order will also appear under the Online Orders tab with the following options:
- Complete: Close the ticket and assign the ticket to whoever pressed it
- Transfer: Transfers ticket to another user
- Print: Print a receipt
- Take Payment: If the order has not yet been paid, collect payment
Note: The ticket is assigned to the user who presses Complete, regardless of whether it was transferred to another user.
Important: Tickets cannot be edited on POS, and if the customer made a mistake or needs items added/removed, a new ticket is required.
