Description: Learn how to use the Related Transactions panel in Shift4 Customer Hub to search for matching transactions across multiple locations and identify connections during fraud investigations or customer lookups.
Overview
The Related Transactions panel on the Transaction Detail page lets you query matching transactions — by card token, email, customer reference, or IP address — across multiple locations simultaneously. This is especially useful when managing multiple Merchant IDs (MIDs) and needing to confirm connections quickly without switching between tabs or locations.
How to Access
- In Transaction Manager, locate the transaction you want to view.
- Select the transaction.
- Scroll down to the Related Transactions section.
Features
Multi-Location Selector
A location and location-group picker is available directly in the Related Transactions panel. You can query matching transactions across multiple locations at once, including individual locations or any location group you have configured.
Enhanced Table Data
The Related Transactions table includes five additional data columns: MID, Merchant Name, Customer Reference, Email, and Device/IP Address. These give you the specific details needed to confirm connections without clicking into every individual transaction.
Pinned Reference Row
The transaction you are currently viewing is pinned as the first row in the table and remains visible as you scroll, providing a constant reference point throughout your investigation.
Visual Attribute Highlighting
When you filter by match type — such as card token or email — the corresponding columns are automatically highlighted in blue, making the connection between your filter and the results immediately visible.
FAQs
Do I need to do anything to enable this feature?
No. The multi-location selector appears automatically in the Related Transactions panel once your account has access to two or more MIDs.
Will the location I'm currently viewing always be included in the search?
Yes. The MID of the transaction you are viewing is always pre-selected and cannot be removed, so you always have context for the current transaction.
Can I search across all my locations at once?
Yes. You can select individual locations or any location group you have configured.
Why don't I see the location selector?
The selector only appears when your account has access to at least two MIDs. If you have a single MID, the Related Transactions panel behaves as it did before this feature was available.
Does the export include the current transaction?
No. Exports in CSV, Excel, and PDF format contain only the related transactions — not the pinned current transaction row.
Will the dates in exports match what I see on screen?
Yes. Timezone codes are displayed in the Date column on screen and are reflected in CSV and Excel exports.
