Description: Learn how to configure the overtime rules on SkyTab POS.
Note: You will require manager permissions to complete this process.
-
Navigate to Manager > Settings > Business > Labor.
-
Modify the Overtime Rules to the desired setting using the pull-down.
The choices are:
-
Weekly (Federal - FLSA)
-
California
California Overtime laws dictate that whenever an employee works for over 8 hours on any given day, they are to be given overtime for the time worked after 8 hours. This varies from the Federal overtime rules, which only require someone to work 40 hours in a week to be paid overtime. On SkyTab POS, this means that the Overtime preference is different based on what you choose. -
For the Federal - FLSA Settings, the threshold for Overtime is passed only whenever an employee works over 40 hours, and the Overtime multiplier for when an employee passes this is 1.5x standard pay rate.
-
For the California OT settings, there are three thresholds to pass. For these rules, if an employee goes over 8 hours in a day or goes over 40 hours in a week, they will get 1.5x over time, just like the FLSA settings. However, in addition to this, if an employee works more than 12 hours a day, then they will get a 2.0x overtime rate.
