Customer-Facing Display Firmware Updates

Description: Review the new Customer-Facing Display (CFD) firmware updates.

We will be releasing a series of firmware updates for our CFD hardware that will focus on quality of life and merchant experience enhancements.

• Starting Tuesday, November 7th, we'll be rolling out an updated firmware version (PayDroid_11.0.0_Fir_V21.1.06_20230920) to all of our SkyTab POS locations that are using a CFD. This update will be deployed during off-hours to avoid any merchant downtime. The firmware gives us the ability to connect the CFD directly to the bottom of the L1400 terminal using the provided USB-C to USB-C cable.  
• If locations report a poor customer experience, frequent disconnects, or other issues with the device, we recommend moving to a hardwired connection, as this seems to be the most reliable form of communication. 
• This firmware also lowers the strength of the NFC Tapping function by 50% to avoid accidental tapping transactions when trying to process an EMV Insert transaction. 

Internal:
In addition to this initial firmware update on November 6th, there will be another one in the coming weeks that will increase the strength of the NFC tapping back to its original level. This update will also improve the detection of NFC cards via an enhanced process that will reduce “2 Chip read” errors.

• A permanent fix for the “Loss of RKI” issue, which has a documented temporary solution here, will also be included in this firmware update.
