Description: Learn how to configure the merge feature on your Kitchen Display System (KDS), which allows you to merge tickets manually or automatically based on predefined criteria.
To configure ticket merge preferences:
- Tap on the gear icon near the bottom left of the screen to open the Settings screen.
- Use the radio button to select your Ticket Merge preference: Manual via Ticket Menu or Auto from the Ticket Actions section in Settings.
- Tap Done to save your settings.
Manual Merge
Tickets may only be merged if they are from the same order. This usually occurs when a ticket has been sent to the kitchen, and then more items are added (usually under a new seat), and the ticket is sent with the new items. Learn how to merge tickets below.
- To merge tickets, select the ellipsis (3 vertical dots) in the upper right corner of the ticket. From the dropdown, select Merge.
- Use the checkbox underneath each ticket to select it to be merged.
- Press Merge Selected Tickets.
- Once tickets have been merged, they cannot be unmerged.
- If no tickets appear, no other tickets can be merged with it.
- Merged tickets will sort items under the seat number, so if two merged tickets each had items for S1, they will be merged under S1.
- If the same item is on two merged tickets, it is shown twice. Use the "Group" function to roll up quantities.
Auto Merge
- For Automatic Merge, specify the duration from the original ticket for new rounds to merge.
- Notifications appear in the ticket header and are cleared by tapping the header. This option streamlines the process by reducing manual intervention.
