Description: In order to use the HT-Retail system, you will need to add SKUs (items) into the POS system. Review how to add and manage SKUs properly below.

Creating & Editing SKUs
To create a new SKU in the HT-Retail system, start by logging in to the POS system and selecting Inventory either from the navigation bar at the top or from the home screen. Then, from the Inventory menu:
- If you are creating a new SKU, select Create New SKU in the upper right corner of the screen.
- If you are editing an existing SKU:
- Select the item from the list that needs to be modified
- Make any required changes
- Select Save to commit the changes
Inventory Info Tab
On the Info tab, enter the following information:
- Description: Will appear as the SKU's name where applicable
- Vendor: Selecting a Vendor determines where the SKU can be reordered from
- Department: Used for organizational purposes
- Tax Options: The ability to add any taxes by checking the applicable boxes
- Reg. Sales Price: How much the item will be sold for
- List Cost: The price to purchase the item from the vendor
SKU Attributes & Custom Attributes
Prices Tab
To add Special Pricing to an item (aka Automatic Discounts):
- Log into the system and select Inventory either from the navigation bar at the top or from the home screen.
- Then, from the Inventory menu, select the item that the special price will be applied to.
- At the bottom of the page, select the Prices tab and press Add/Edit at the bottom center of the window to open the Auto Discount Rule Editor screen.
Inventory Items & Lookups
Once you have finished keying in the SKU‘s information, select the third tab labeled Inventory Items & Lookups. Here you can view all the dimensions of the selected SKU.
Within this screen, you can view the Monthly Sold Quantity, Edit Selected Items, Edit UPC Lookups, View the SKU Activity, as well as search for a preferred item code to view. You will see several columns labeled as; SKU, Description, Quantity on Hand, Sold Quantity, Quantity On Order, and so on. The totals of each of these columns displayed will be shown in the last row labeled as Total. This row is colored gray.
Edit Selected Item
Highlighting a SKU from the list and pressing the Edit Selected Item button opens the Edit Inventory Items screen. This screen has three tabs allowing you to further edit the selected SKU as follows:
QOH/Min/Max
The QOH/Min/Max tab allows you to adjust the quantity of the item entered. This should be the total amount of this item that is available. This should ONLY be done when entering a new item into the POS system. Adjusting the inventory to an existing item should be done using either Purchase Orders or Inventory Count. From this screen:
- Select the Adjust Quantity On Hand check box.
- Enter the New Quantity on Hand.
- Select the Reason and add any Details.
- Press Save to commit the QOH.
Lookup/UPC
You can add multiple UPCs to the item by selecting the Lookup/UPC tab and selecting the text box in the top right.
- Scan a barcode with the UPC you would like to add to populate the box.
- Once populated, select the Add button.
- Repeat this process for all barcodes to be added.
- Exit the window when complete.
