Force Stop Application on the Workstation for Shift4 Dine

Description: Learn how to force-stop the Shift4 Dine application on Workstations, depending on the model the merchant has. If you are having issues, force-stop the Shift4 Dine application as a simple method of restarting the application without restarting the whole Workstation.

Important: Updates in these menus can have an effect on the functionality of the device and should only be accessed with the help of a member of the technical support team.

Elite III

1. Select the Home button on the Android navigation bar. 
   
   
2. Select the Main Menu button.
3. Select Settings.
4. Select Apps.
5. Select Shift4 Dine.
   
6. Select the Force Stop button, and the application closes.
7. Navigate back to the main menu and re-open the Shift4 Dine application.

Onyx

1. To access Android settings, select the serial number that is located at the bottom of the login screen rapidly about seven times. A new screen with additional options is displayed.
   
2. Scroll down to Android Settings and Select Open.
   
3. Select Apps & notifications.
4. Select Shift4 Dine.
5. Press the Force Stop button to complete the process.
   
   
   The only way to access the main screen on the Onyx-A hardware is to force stop the application from within the Android Settings screen.
   
   
   
   
6. After settings are closed, it sends you back to the main screen, and from there, you can launch the Shift4 Dine application.

Wave POS

After remoting into the Workstation, you may see one or two navigation bars, depending on if the Android navigation bar is turned on (black background).

1. Select one of the circles.
2. Select the cogwheel within a green background representing the Settings tab.
   
3. Once in the Settings tab, select Apps & notifications.
   
4. Select Shift4 Dine.
5. Press the Force Stop button.
   
6. Select one of the circular buttons to get back to the main screen, and select the Shift4 Dine application to start it again.

Elys L1400

1. To access Android settings, select the serial number at the bottom of the login screen rapidly about seven times. A new screen with additional options is displayed.
   
2. Scroll down to Android Settings and select Open.
   
3. Select Apps & notifications.
4. Select Shift4 Dine.
   
5. Press the Force Stop button to complete the process.
   
6. To launch the Shift4 Dine application, press the Open button on the top middle of the screen.
   

Shift4 Duo

1. Select the Home button on the AirView navigation bar.
   
2. Select the cogwheel icon.
   
3. Once in the Settings tab, select Apps & notifications.
   
4. If needed, select See all 18 apps.
   
5. Select the application you need to force stop and select Force Stop. After that, it can be reopened by selecting Open.
