What is causing this Error?
The cashier selects the Credit tender, but the customer uses a Debit card, or the cashier selects the Debit tender, but the customer uses a Credit card.
How do I resolve this Error?
Use the correct tender type.
By default, the Shift4 Dine version in Canada displays the tender type Debit as disabled on the Workstation and Shift4 Dine Customer Hub settings. You (or the install team) must enable it to appear on the Payment screen.
Note: For Canada, starting from version 1.118+, the Credit and Debit payment buttons are changing to a "Credit / Debit" button on the Workstation for Shift4 Dine and Shift4 Duo/Shift4 One. This change will automatically determine whether the card is a Credit or a Debit and note that in the Reporting.
