Configure Ontario Overtime Rules in Timeclock Management for SkyTab POS

Overview

You can now configure Ontario, Canada-specific overtime rules directly in Timeclock Management to support compliance with local labor laws. A new option labeled “Ontario” is available in the Overtime Rules dropdown. When selected, it automatically:

• Sets the Weekly Overtime Threshold to 44 hours
• Applies an Overtime Multiplier of 1.5x (time and a half)
• Leaves the Daily Overtime Threshold blank, as Ontario does not require a daily limit

Supporting local labor laws ensures businesses are operating within legal standards. Unlike the standard 40-hour threshold used in the U.S. or California-specific rules, Ontario mandates overtime after 44 hours in a workweek. This update makes it easier to remain compliant in the Canadian market.

How to Configure

1. Log in to Lighthouse Business Manager.
2. Navigate to Employees > Timeclock Management > Labor Settings.
   
   
3. From the Overtime Rules dropdown, select Ontario.
   
   
4. Select Save.
