Overview
Menu Sets allow you to control item availability and pricing by assigning different menus to specific days, times, and optional date ranges. This makes it easy to automatically display the correct menu and pricing for recurring schedules, promotions, and seasonal events.
Common uses include:
- Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and happy hour menus
- Daily specials (for example, Monday Specials)
- Weekday or weekend menus
- Seasonal or holiday promotions using date ranges
Current Limitations
The following limitations apply to Menu Sets:
- Menus cannot overlap. For example, a Happy Hour menu cannot overlap with a Dinner menu.
- Menu Sets are global and apply to all locations.
- Menu Sets cannot currently be assigned by location or revenue center.
Note: Support for location- and revenue center-specific Menu Sets is planned for a future release.
Understanding Menu Sets
A Menu Set contains one or more menus that determine item availability and pricing during specific time periods.
Each menu includes:
- Menu Name
- Days of the Week
- Time Range
- Optional Date Range
By default, all menu items are available and use their default item price.

Configure Date Ranges (Optional)
By default, menus are valid for all dates that match their configured days and time ranges.
Use a date range when a menu should only be available during a specific period, such as a holiday or seasonal promotion.
To configure a date range:
- Open the menu you want to edit.
- Disable Valid for All Dates.
- Select a Start date and an End date.
- Select Save.
Example: Create a Holiday Special menu available only during Christmas weekend, while keeping the standard Dinner menu available throughout the rest of the year.
Configure Item Availability
By default, all items are available on every menu at the default price.
To configure item availability:
- Disable the Always toggle under the Availability column.
Note: Disabling Always enables menu-specific availability settings, allowing you to choose which menus the item appears on. - Use the item search to locate the item you want to configure quickly.
- Select the menus where the item should be available.
- Select Save.
Configure Dynamic Pricing
Item pricing can be customized for each menu without changing the default menu price.
Supported price adjustments include:
| Price Change Type | Entry |
|---|---|
| Set a specific price | Enter amount |
| Increase by a fixed amount | +XX |
| Decrease by a fixed amount | -XX |
| Increase by a percentage | +XX% |
| Decrease by a percentage | -XX% |
Note: Percentage adjustments are rounded to the nearest $0.09.
Reset Item Pricing
To restore an item's default menu price:
- Select the Reset (clockwise arrows) button, or
- Delete the custom price.
Both methods reset the item to its default menu price.
Example:
If the default Burger price is $10.00, but it is priced at $12.00 on the Dinner menu:
Selecting "Reset" or deleting the custom price returns the Burger price to $10.00.
