Description: Learn how to resolve common Matrix Item issues, including configuration problems in Multi-Location Management and attribute or availability issues on the Workstation for Shift4 Dine.
Note: This feature is currently available only for Pilot users.
Issue | What to Check |
| Matrix Item button not appearing on the Workstation | Confirm the Matrix Item is set to Active in Multi-Location Management and has been published/synced to the location. Verify Shift4 Dine is running version 1.125 or later. |
| An attribute value is missing from the Workstation prompt | The Standard Item linked to that attribute combination may be inactive or unavailable due to Menu Availability settings. Check the item's Active status and availability settings in Multi-Location Management. |
| A previously visible attribute value is now disabled on the Workstation | The underlying Standard Item's stock may be at or below zero with ordering disabled. Check item tracking settings in Multi-Location Management. |
| The Workstation shows a message that no items are available for this Matrix Item | All linked Standard Items are either inactive, unlinked, or excluded by Menu Availability. Review each item in the Items & Attributes table to confirm at least one is active and available. |
| Cannot save the Matrix Item | Check for incomplete rows in the Items & Attributes table (every row must have a value for every Attribute Group) or duplicate attribute combinations (each combination must be unique). |
| Cannot add a Standard Item to the Items & Attributes table | The item may already be linked to another Matrix Item. Each Standard Item can only belong to one Matrix Item at a time. |
| Linked Standard Items still appear in the department menu on the Workstation | Confirm the item is saved and linked in the Matrix Item configuration in Multi-Location Management and that changes have synced to the terminal. |
| Matrix Item not visible in Multi-Location Management for configuration | Matrix Items are only accessible for Multi-Location Management locations. Confirm your account has enterprise access and that you are configuring from the corporate level. |
