Description: Learn how to resolve common Combos issues, including configuration problems in Multi-Location Management and behavior on the Workstation for Shift4 Dine.
Note: This feature is currently available only for Pilot users.
Combos Troubleshooting
Issue | What to Check |
| Combo item not appearing on the Workstation | Confirm the item is set to Active in Shift4 Customer Hub and has been published/synced to the location. Verify the POS is running version 1.125 or later. |
| Combo slots showing no items | One or more Standard Items assigned to the slot may be deactivated. Go to Shift4 Customer Hub > Items and verify each item in the combo slot is active. |
| Ticket won't send after adding a combo | Check that all combo slots have a selection made. Look for the SELECTIONS REQUIRED indicator on the combo line. |
| Upcharge not appearing on ticket | Confirm the Combo Upcharge field is set on the Standard Item itself (not on the combo item). |
| Tax not calculating as expected | Review the "Use Combo Item Tax Rules" toggle under Location > Business Settings > Reporting in Shift4 Customer Hub. |
| Combo sales not appearing in revenue reports | Remember that combo items report $0 in sales - all sales dollars appear under the child items' revenue classes. |
| Combo not visible in Shift4 Customer Hub for configuration | Combos are only accessible for Shift4 Venue (Multi-Location Management) locations. Confirm your account has enterprise access and that you are configuring from the corporate level. |
