Description: Many of Shift4's products, as well as those of systems we interface with, utilize Windows Services to perform their function as a background process. In the case of the UTG and UTG Stub, these Services must be halted before their Stand Alone counterparts can be accessed. Stopping and restarting a service can also be a useful troubleshooting step.
- In Windows 7
- In Windows 8.1
- In Windows 8.1 via Charm Bar
- In Windows 10
- In Windows via the Command Line or Power Shell: (UTG only)
- Using LogMeIn
Notes:
- The UTG (v2) Stand Alone can't be started without first stopping the UTG Service. Stopping the Universal Transaction Gateway (UTG) stops all active credit card processing until either the service or the Stand Alone is restarted.
- Please select Run As Administrator to ensure Services is running with proper permissions.
