Description: Review how to duplicate or reprocess transactions in Lighthouse Transaction Manager (LTM) below using the Clone feature. The Clone option produces an exact copy of the selected transaction for editing, and it retains the payment card information. For example, if a refund needs to be processed for a transaction already settled in a batch.
Another example might be if a transaction was voided by mistake. Use the Clone option to create a new transaction. After the transaction has been created, the populated Online Edit page may be used to adjust any of its details (if needed) and submit it – this will cause the transaction to attempt to get a new authorization while leaving the voided transaction as is. Please remember authorization attempts may result in additional fees.
Note: If you cannot perform the required function, you need to speak to your user issuer or Account Administrator about adding this privilege to your user credentials.
For more information, please reference Adjust Transactions, Refund Transactions, or Void Transactions.
WARNING: Transactions that are adjusted, voided, or processed in LTM directly do not report back to the interface system that processed the original authorization or sale request. This means there could be a discrepancy between the system reports if changes are made directly as the interface reporting is bypassed.
You must note adjustments made in your reporting documentation for the batch settlement. If an adjustment that reports in both systems is needed, speak to your interface provider about how to perform this adjustment in your software.
Duplicating or Reprocessing a Transaction
Important: Debit transactions can not be duplicated as they require user input for PIN entry unless the card is also branded with a creditor (Visa. Mastercard, etc.) This would require you to obtain the full credit card details from the customer, and then you would need to place a manual entry into the system as a new sale so it can run under the creditor's communication network.
To duplicate or reprocess a previous transaction as a new sale:
- Log in to your LTM User Account.
- Navigate to the Transactions tab.
- Select Current Transactions and use the Search box on this page to search for the transaction invoice number or the card's last four digits. (*XXXX).
- Click on the invoice once located to edit it.
- At the top right of the window, select Edit, and select Clone.
- Validate that the Primary Amount is the amount to be charged; if not, Edit this.
- Select any of the Submit buttons on the page to provide a Sales Draft that can be printed if needed.
