Description: Learn how to set the payment mode for tickets on SkyTab POS, which dictates the ownership of Sales, Payments, Tips, and Gratuities as they’re collected.
SkyTab v1.117.x and above
Note: You will require manager permissions to complete this process.
Ticket payment mode is set up per job:
- Navigate to Manager > Settings > Users > Jobs.
- Select the job on the left to edit the details on the right. The "Ticket Payment Mode" field determines the ticket payment operation.
- Expand the Ticket Payment Mode dropdown, select the desired setting, then select OK.
- Standard Mode (Formerly Restricted Mode): Users with this Job setting will own all Sales, Payments, Tips, and Gratuities made ONLY for tickets they own. The employee can only apply tips to tickets they own.

Limited Cashier Mode: Users with this job setting will own the Payments made. All Sales, Tips, and Gratuities will stay with the employee who owns the ticket.
Note: This mode requires the “Access to All Tickets" setting. -
Full Cashier Mode: Users with this Job setting will own Payments, Tips, & Gratuities made. All Sales will stay with the employee who owns the ticket.
Note: This mode requires the “Access to All Tickets" setting. - Manager Mode: Users with this Job setting will NOT own Sales, Payments, Tips, and Gratuities made. They will all stay with the employee who owns the ticket.
- If the Ticket Payment Mode requires the "Access to All Tickets" setting, ensure it is included under Settings.
- Tap Save on the bottom right of the screen.

SkyTab v1.116.x and below

Ticket payment mode is set up per job:
- Navigate to Manager > Settings > Users > Jobs.
- Select the job listed on the left to edit the details on the right. The "Operate As" field determines the ticket payment operation.
- Operate As: Different modes for the job to operate under are listed below in more detail:
- Cashier Mode: The employee making the payment gets credited for the payment and tip regardless of who makes the ticket. Whenever they take a payment, that person is credited under the Sales Report and tips when they clock out.
- Manager Mode: The owner of the ticket gets credited for payment and tips regardless of who makes the payment. This means the Manager can close out and apply payments on any tickets and it still gets credited to the original owner of the ticket.
- Restricted Mode: The employee is only able to apply tickets to payments they own.
- Operate As: Different modes for the job to operate under are listed below in more detail:
- Select the desired mode and tap Save.
