Assign Printers to a Group
- Navigate to Manager > Settings > Hardware > Printer Groups.
- Tap Add New Printer Group and name it accordingly.
- Enter the printer group name into the 'Printer Group Name' field.
- Under Assigned Printers, select Tap to edit to open the 'Assigned Printers To' dialog box.
Note: The same printer can belong to multiple groups. - Tap the printers from the left side that you want to add to this printer group and tap Ok.
- To allow printing for all Order Types, Jobs, and Stations, leave the default settings for 'Filter by.' To set up filters:
Note: The filter works in combination with other filters for the same group, if any.- Tap in the Order Types field to limit printing to print only when sent from specified Order Types.
- Tap the Order Types from the left side that you want to add to this printer group and tap Ok.
- Tap in the Jobs field to limit printing to print only when sent from specified Jobs.
- Tap the Jobs from the left side that you want to add to this printer group and tap Ok.
- Tap in the Stations field to limit printing to print only when sent from specified POS stations.
- Tap the Station from the left side that you want to add to this printer group and tap Ok.
- Tap in the Order Types field to limit printing to print only when sent from specified Order Types.
- Tap Save.
By following these steps, you can efficiently manage your printer groups and ensure that print jobs are routed correctly based on your criteria.

Basics of Printer Group UI:

- This is a list of Created Printer Groups on the System

- This is the name of the Printer Group to describe the functionality of this Group

- The Printers in this list is what is allowed to be used with in this printer group
- Filters to Printer Groups ____
- The Filters can be used to help decide how the Printer Group Functions. It can be controlled by Order Type, Jobs Type, or a Specific Group of Stations (Mobile Device Excluded At this Moment (As of making this document 02/23/2024))
Scenario 1:
Bartenders need their drinks not to print to the Bar Remote Printer, but all other Staff need bar drinks to Print. Also, make sure that The Bartender can still send drinks to the Kitchen.
Equipment:

Scenario 2:
The location has 2 floors with 3 bars (which means 3 Remote Bar Printers). The servers move constantly around the floors and add orders to tickets. They need to be able to choose which bar printer to print to based on their location.

With it set up like this, the Server can change the order type based on the location of the Closest bar. The order type can be changed on the ticket to the bar that is closest to the drink to be made at that location.
Scenario 3:
The site wants tickets to print to the Kitchen when using the Order Type “DINE IN” to only print to the Kitchen Printer. When they put in a “ToGo/Call-In/Pick-up/Online Ordering” Order type
Equipment:

When the Dine in Ordertype is chosen, it will only send Kitchen Tickets to the Kitchen Printer #1. When any Type of Togo Order type listed above is chosen it will print out an Order Ticket to Kitchen Printer #1 and Togo Printer #1. Places that like to have A full Order ticket to put on the togo order at the front counter when the order is ready.
Delete or Remove Printer Group
Note: SkyTab POS software is not capable of deleting or removing printer groups once they are added to the POS system. The only way to remove or delete printer groups from the POS is to make them inactive.
To deactivate the printer group:
- Navigate to Manager > Settings > Hardware > Printer Groups.
- Select the printer group that needs to be deactivated from the menu.
- Slide the Active toggle in the top right OFF on the Printer Groups screen.
- Select the Save button in the bottom right corner.
