Description: SkyTab POS allows the user to utilize Order Types to separate and categorize their orders in the system and in reporting, such as Dine-In, Take-out, Bar, and more.

Add / Edit Order Type
Order Types can be created or edited by navigating to Manager > Settings > Orders:
- To add a new order type, press the Add New at the bottom left of the screen.
- To edit an existing order type:
- Highlight the order type from the list on the left.
- Make the desired changes and press Save.
Delete or Remove Order Type
Note: SkyTab POS software is not capable of deleting or removing order types from the menu once it is added to the POS system. The only way to remove or delete order types from the menu is to make them inactive.
To deactivate the order type:
- Navigate to the Manager > Settings > Orders > Order Types. Select the order type that needs to be deactivated from the left side menu by pressing on it.
- Slide the Active toggle OFF on the top middle of the screen.

Select Save in the bottom right corner.
Editing Order Type List
Select Edit List in the lower left to open the Edit List dialog box, where you can change the order that the order types will display in the drop-down list on the Order Entry screen. To do so, highlight the order type you would like to move, then use the arrows to move the order type up or down within the list:
- The outer arrows will move it to the top or bottom.
- The inner arrows will move it up or down by one line.
Important: Updating the list here will NOT change the list order within settings.
Orders Settings Terms
Active: Toggling this option to the right will activate the order type so it can be selected from the Order Entry screen.
Order Type Name (required): Enter a unique name to describe this order type. Make sure the name is easily recognizable to all users of the system for quick and efficient use.
Default Section Layout: If you set up a table layout on Lighthouse, you can assign that layout to an order type. You will be able to determine whether or not this order type will automatically assign a ticket to a particular section:
- Tap within the section selection field.
- Highlight the desired table section.
- Select Ok when complete.
Require Customer: Controls whether or not a customer must be added to a ticket with this order type.
- Require Address: Controls if an address is required when using this order type.
- Prompt for Customer at start of order: Will require you to select a customer when starting an order.
Allow Custom Ticket Names: Controls whether or not a custom ticket name can be applied to a ticket when this Order Type is in use. If enabled, the following options will be available to be chosen from:
- Require Ticket Name: Controls if a custom ticket name must be added to a ticket with this order type (This option is mutually exclusive with Require Customer).

If Custom Name Already Exists: Determines how the system will handle a situation in which there are two tickets that have the same ticket name; there are two mutually exclusive options:
- Automatically generate new name: Will automatically append the name with ‘:2’ to prevent duplication.
- Prompt to rename or combine tickets: The user will be prompted to either rename the new ticket or combine both tickets with this name into one ticket.
Order Type Prints In Red/Bold To Kitchen: Controls whether or not the order type information will print on the kitchen slip in bolded red text to emphasize to the kitchen how the order should be prepared (i.e., Dine In on a plate or To Go in a bag).
Prompt For Guest Count: After opening a new ticket, you will be prompted with a screen where you will be asked to enter the count of guests that will be occupying the table/ticket.
Duplicate: Pressing this button will create a copy of the currently selected order type. The copy will need to be given a new name since you cannot have two order types with the same name.
