Description: Learn how to navigate the Enterprise hierarchy in Lighthouse Business Manager (LBM), set context levels, and manage data visibility.
To watch more how-to videos, visit our video section.
When accessing Lighthouse Business Manager (LBM) with an Enterprise-enabled account, your locations will be grouped under an Enterprise and organized within a hierarchy.
By selecting a level in the hierarchy, the Current Level is set. This determines the context in which data is viewed, created, and edited as users navigate through LBM.
When the Enterprise level is selected:
- Data is created at the Enterprise level
- That data is automatically shared across all locations unless overridden
When a Group or Location level is selected:
- Actions and edits apply only within the selected level’s context.
Changes to data depend on:
- The level at which the data was originally created
- The Current Level selected in the hierarchy
Editing Rules by Level
- Enterprise-level data is editable at the Enterprise level.
- Location-created data is editable only by the location that created it.
- The Enterprise can view location-created data but cannot edit it.
- Locations may override specific attributes of Enterprise data when enabled through location settings.
Ownership Column
The Ownership column indicates the level at which a data row was created and determines who can edit it.
- Enterprise- or Group-owned rows are editable only at those levels.
- Location-owned rows are editable only by the creating location.
- At the location level, overridden fields are visually indicated (for example, with a blue dot).
Viewing Overrides
Filters help identify customized data:
- Current Level reflects the selected hierarchy context.
- Overrides Only displays only rows that contain overrides
- At the Enterprise or Group level, rows show how many locations have applied overrides.
- At the Location level, only overrides created by that specific location are shown.
