Install a PAX A35 or Q25 PIN Pad on the Workstation for Shift4 Dine

Note: After installing your PIN Pad, configure it in Shift4 Dine to ensure it is set up correctly.

Install the PAX A35

1. Remove the two screws on the back of the PAX A35 PIN Pad and remove the back cover.
   
2. Insert the USB Type-C cable into the PIN Pad.
   
3. Replace the back cover and tighten the two screws securely.
   
4. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a USB port on the Workstation Accessory Hub.
   
    

Program the PAX A35

1. On the Home screen, select the Settings/Menu icon.
   Note: Additional settings are accessed by tapping each corner, starting from the top left and going clockwise.
   
2. Enter today’s date in MMDDYYYY format when prompted to enter a password, then select OK.
3. Select Network & Internet > Ethernet.
4. Ensure Ethernet is enabled or toggled on.
5. Select Ethernet Configuration to display the network settings.
6. Scroll to Configure Ethernet Device > Static.
7. Enter the necessary IP information.
   Note: IP Address: The first PIN Pad will be 192.168.213.220; the second one will be 221, and so on.
8. Select Save.

Install the PAX Q25

1. Plug the power cable into a power outlet.
   
2. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the red dongle (A).

3. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the Accessory Hub (B). 
   

Program the PAX Q25

1. Plug the device into your network. Your PIN pad should download and reboot if it’s the first time it’s been connected to your network.
   Note: If the PIN Pad does not download, proceed as follows. 
2. Press Enter > System Settings > App Management > Activate > Online
3. After activation, go back one screen to App Management > App update. The Q25 should download and reboot.
4. Once rebooted, agree to the EULA Agreement.
5. Press the Menu key.
   
6. Enter today’s date in MMDDYYYY format when prompted to enter a password.
   
7. Press Down Arrow (˅) at the Main Menu to advance to the next screen of options.
8. Select COMM. Settings.
9. Enter today’s date in MMDDYYYY as the password to continue.
10. Press Down Arrow (˅) to reach the COMM OPTIONS screen.
11. Select LAN Parameters > LAN Type > Static.
12. Verify the following settings:
    • IP Address: The first PIN Pad will be 192.168.213.220; the second one will be 221, and so on.
    • Gateway, Subnet mask, and DNS should already be set, but double-check:
      • Gateway: 192.168.213.1
      • Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
      • DNS: 192.168.213.1 and DNS2 8.8.8.8 respectively
