General Issues
Power Light is Off
- Make sure the power supply for the printer is plugged in securely.
- Verify that the outlet being used is in working condition.
- Turn the power switch for the printer off and back on.
Paper Light is On
- Press the lever located near the paper feed area to open the printer housing.
- Insert a new roll and make sure it is seated properly. Instructions are normally on the inside panel of the printer.
- Close the printer housing and press the feed button. The paper will feed out, and the paper indicator light should no longer be lit. If the indicator light remains lit, the printer may need to be replaced.
Printer is Only Printing in Red
The ribbon cartridge might not be inserted correctly, or the cartridge may need to be replaced. If re-inserting the cartridge does not resolve the issue, replace the cartridge.
Network Issues
Network and Power Connection to the Printer
- At the back or underside of the printer, unplug the Ethernet cable and plug it back in to ensure it is securely connected. The green and orange colored lights indicate there is an active connection. Trace the Ethernet cable to verify that it is securely connected at the other end. If it is plugged into a network switch, verify that the corresponding port light on the switch is illuminated, indicating a proper connection.
Note: Printer port locations may vary. - At the back or underside of the printer, unplug the power connection and plug it back in to ensure it is securely connected.
USB Issues
USB and Power Connection to the Printer
- At the back or underside of the printer, unplug the USB cable and plug it back in to ensure it is securely connected. Follow the USB cable to the terminal. Disconnect and reconnect it to verify it is secure.
Note: Printer port locations may vary. - At the back or underside of the printer, unplug the power connection and plug it back in to verify it is secure. Make sure all connections on the power supply are secure.
- Ensure the power supply is securely connected. The large square is referred to as a brick, and the power connection can become loose in the middle.
Note: When replacing a printer, it is important to use the power supply that came with it, as power supplies are specific to each printer model. - Power off the printer and terminal.
- Power on the printer first, then the terminal.
