Create and Access Tickets in Table View on SkyTab POS

Permissions Required

To create or access tickets in Table View, an employee’s assigned job must have Allow Grid/Table View enabled in POS or Lighthouse.

• “Access to all Tickets” permission allows opening any ticket.
• Employees without this permission can only open tickets they own.

Default Section

To create a more intuitive and organic workflow, the Table view perpetually remembers the last section a user accessed, bypassing the "default section" setting for order types. This balance of efficiency and functionality minimizes system configuration while still meeting the needs of all POS users, including servers and bartenders.

Creating a New Ticket

1. Tap an available table (gray table with gray border).
   
2. If your assigned job has a default order type, it is applied automatically. If not, you’ll be prompted to choose one.
3. If the default order type or the manually selected order type prompts for guest count, you’ll enter it before proceeding.
   

Ticket Restrictions

• You cannot create a new ticket on a table that already has an active ticket from Table View.
• To create additional tickets (including split checks), go to the Order (Grid) View.

Opening Existing Tickets

• To access an open ticket on an active table, tap the table to open the ticket.
• Jobs with the “Access to all Tickets” permission can open any ticket. Employees without this permission can only open their own tickets.

Manage Ticket Functions in Order View

The following ticket management actions are only available in Order View:

• Splitting or combining checks
• Transferring ticket ownership
• Voiding tickets
• Managing tickets in bulk

Note: Creating a ticket in Table View counts as a ticket creation, even if you cancel without adding items; it may need to be voided.

Additional Information

• Currently available on SkyTab Workstations and SkyTab Glass only. SkyTab Air support is planned for a future release.
• Features like splitting checks will be added to Table View in future updates.
