What devices does the Charging Station for Handheld support?
The Charging Station is designed exclusively for the PAX A6630 Handheld terminal. It is not compatible with other device models.
How many devices can I charge at the same time?
The standard kit charges up to 5 devices simultaneously.
What do the charging indicator lights mean?
A red indicator light means the device is actively charging. A green indicator light means the device is idle or fully charged.
Note: If your device’s Screen Sleep Time is set to “Never,” the light may remain red even when the battery is at 100%.
My device does not appear to be charging. What should I do?
First, confirm the Charging Station power adapter is fully connected to the Power Dock Controller and plugged into a live outlet. Then ensure the A6630 is properly seated in the charging bay with the pogo pins facing down. If the issue persists, contact Shift4 Support.
Can I use a third-party power adapter with the Charging Station?
No. The Charging Station must only be used with the included PAX-certified power supply (12VDC, 5A via DC barrel connector). Using a third-party adapter with incorrect voltage or amperage may damage the Charging Station and will void the device warranty.
How do I separate the charging bays if I need to reconfigure my Charging Station?
There is a release lever located inside each charging extension, behind the charging connector. Gently press down on the lever while pulling the front unit away to separate the docks. No tools are required.
How do I clean the Charging Station?
Apply distilled water or a mild glass cleaner to a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe the surface. Do not immerse the device in water or any liquid, and do not use industrial-strength or abrasive cleaners, as they may scratch or damage the unit.
