Description: Set up and verify a networking connection when using the SkyTab PAX A930 with the Archer C7 Router using the steps below.
- Network Layout
- Plugging in the Router
- Checking the Network on the Router
- Checking the Network on the A930 Device
Important: The Archer C7 Router has one configuration for both SkyTab and Tableside 4. The SSID or Wireless Network name for both should be S4device2.4, and being that the C7 is a dual-band router, it is also broadcasting a 5g network S4device5g.
Network Layout
When setting up the network, ensure that your ISP modem connects to the Shift4 TP-Link Router. Then, connect the Archer C7 Router to the Shift4 Router. The below diagram further elaborates on the setup.
Important: The Archer C7 Router/WiFi network needs to be configured with WPA encryption. WEP is not an option for running transactions on the SkyTab device.
Plugging In the Router
When plugging in the router, you can utilize the following ports:
- Power: Plug the wall charger into the router
- WAN: One cable should go from the TP-link router to this port on the Archer router
- LAN: Should remain empty; no devices should be connected to it
Note: Make sure that the placement of the Archer C7 router is in an accessible location, not near any interfering objects (such as a microwave), and elevated to ensure the strongest signal possible.
Checking the Network on the Router
Verify that the Archer C7 Router is operational by checking the below lights on the front of the router. If they are lit up, that means that there is a connection or that particular feature is working:
- Power
- 5GHz WiFi
- 2.4GHz WiFi
- Internet Connection
- LAN Connection
Checking the Network on the A930 Device
To verify there is a WiFi connection to the SkyTab A930 device, look into the top right corner of the screen (where the time is). When one is active, it shows as white; when inactive or unavailable, it shows a slash through the icon. From there, you will see the following options.
- WiFi: Currently active
- SIM Card: Currently inactive
