Description: Once Shift4Gift is activated, you must configure your gift card options before you can place a gift card order. The configuration page is called Shift4Gift and has two tabs: Gift Cards and Shop Settings.
If you have not already done so, set up Shift4Gift by visiting this article Shift4Gift Setup Using Lighthouse Business Manager (LBM).
Configure Shift4Gift
Once set up, log in to LBM and select Gift Cards > Shift4Gift on the left navigation bar.
Gift Card Tab
On the Gift Card tab, there are three sections:
- Shop URL
- eGift Cards
- Physical Gift Cards
Shop URL
Both the link and the button lead to the user’s shop page, where customers can purchase eGift and physical gift cards.
eGift Cards
This section is broken down into three sections:
- Enable eGift Cards (feature toggle)
- Card Design
- Card Pricing
Enable eGift Cards (Feature toggle)
This toggle activates the feature on LBM and the POS. If this feature is deactivated, customers can no longer buy eGift Cards, but any in circulation will be honored.
Card Design
The design component allows gift cards with one of the preloaded designs plus unlimited customization options in the Design Options modal. (Coming Soon) These designs will be shown as part of the location’s shop when the customer buys gift cards online. This is accessed through the Choose Card Designs button.
"Design Your Card" opens a tool to design gift cards with images, colors, logos, and text.
"Choose Design" will display the Design Library.
-
The Select from Design Library displays the options shown to the customers on the shop page. Designs can be added and removed from this location as well.
-
Selecting the check box under the design will include the design as an option for your customers.
-
Select Save once all options are selected.
Card Pricing
Allows standard pricing such as $5, 10, 25, 50, and 100, as well as the option to allow the customer to customize the total.
Selecting the check box next to an option enables it on your gift card store.
Physical Gift Cards
This section is broken down into five sections:
- Enable Physical Cards (feature toggle)
- Card Design
- Order New Cards
- Card Pricing
- Shipping
Enable Physical Cards (Feature toggle)
This toggle is used to activate the feature on LBM and the POS. If this feature is deactivated, customers can no longer buy Physical Gift Cards, but any in circulation will be honored. Unlike eGift cards, physical gift cards have an option to only sell cards onsite, not online. Refer to the above image.
Card Design
This section uses the same Design Options from the eGift section above with one difference, the Inventory options. Physical cards are assigned amounts that will be shipped to the location. The user can enter the total into the inventory field.
At the bottom of this page, there is a hyperlink that leads to a list of orders previously placed. The 'View Order History' link displays a new page with a list of all previously placed orders.
If there are any questions, support can be accessed from this window via email.
Card Pricing has the same options as the eGift. See above.
Shipping
When a customer places an order for a physical card online, the customer must also pay for shipping. The largest quantity of gift cards in one order is 10.
Shop Settings
This tab also includes the Shop Url, which allows the shop to be customized and updated at any time.
- Shop Name: DBA name
- Logo: Logos can be uploaded and deleted from this location
- Gift Card Image: Gift card image can be uploaded and deleted from this location
-
Theme Color Scheme: Displays the colors chosen for the shop, which are edited by tapping the field.
- You can view the Shift4Gift FAQs by selecting "Click here for FAQ."
Shift4Gift Permissions
A new user Permission set has been added to LBM to allow Admins to assign Shift4Gift-level permissions to employees to assist in managing the product (managing the merchant ordering website, ordering new cards, accessing balance reports, and order fulfillment).
-
In LBM, navigate to Settings > Users.
- Select Add User or edit an existing user.
- Select the User Permissions tab.
- If the user should have all Shift4Gift permissions, under User Permissions, place a checkmark in the checkbox for Shift4Gift. If the user should have specific Shift4Gift permissions, place a checkmark in the individual permission (i.e. Access Shift4Gift Reporting).
- Select Create User or Update User.
