Pre-Authorizations on Shift4 Duo

Description: In Shift4 Duo, users can initiate a pre-authorization and capture payments for pre-authorized tickets. This includes any of the following pre-auth/payment flows:

• Pre-Auth on Shift4 Duo > finalize on Shift4 Duo
• Pre-Auth on Shift4 Duo > finalize on Shift4 Dine Workstation/Tablet
• Pre-Auth on Shift4 Dine Workstation/Tablet> finalize on Shift4 Duo

Initiating a Pre-Auth in Shift4 Duo

1. Tap on the menu in the upper right and select Add Pre-Auth.
   Note: This must be done on a new ticket with no items. The Pre-Auth amount is set to the POS default under Manager > Settings > Business > Advanced.
2. Dip the payment card to add it to the Pre-Auth.

Capturing a Payment on a Pre-Auth Ticket Using Shift4 Duo

1. Select the ticket on Shift4 Duo.
2. Press the Pay button.
3. Select the Pre-Authed CC tender.
4. Press the Pay button.
5. Select a tip amount (done by the customer) and press Continue.
6. Choose a receipt option.
