Description: Learn how to show Tip Prompts on the SkyTab Glass (PAX M8) but not on other SkyTab devices.
Note: You need manager permissions on your SkyTab POS to complete this process.
If you have payment devices that are not customer-facing, you may want to turn off tip prompts for those devices while still allowing the tip prompt on other devices. Use this process to individually configure your PIN Pads for tip prompting.
Configure Tip Hints for Receipts
- Navigate to Manager > Settings > Hardware > Printer/KDS.
- Select your Receipts printer from the list on the left.
- Enter values for each tip hint as shown, then tap Save.
Tip Settings for Business
To ensure tip prompts work properly or are disabled on individual devices:
- Navigate to Manager > Settings > Business > Advanced.
- Verify the following toggles are set properly:
- "Allow Tips Globally" is toggled ON
- "Include All Credit Card Payments in the Daily Batch" is toggled OFF
- Tap Save.
Configure Credit Tender
- Navigate to Manager > Settings > Payments.
- Select Credit from the list of Tenders.
- Set the "Prompt For Tip On Payment Device" ON.
- Tap Save.
Configure PIN Pad(s)
Note: You should repeat this step only at each station with a payment device or on your SkyTab Glass devices.
- Navigate to Manager > Settings > Hardware > Payment Devices.
- To enable tips on the device, set the "Prompt For Tips" toggle ON, or to disable tips, set the toggle OFF.
- Tap Save.
Disclaimer: To see if Tip Hints show up, it's better to test a $1 to $5 transaction instead of the usual $0.01.
