Description: Learn how to set up a receipt printer for your SkyTab Glass.
- Option 1: Default Printer by Employee
- Option 2: Default Printer by Device
- Find the IP Address on the Epson TM-M30
Note: Required min version 1.79.1. Contact Shift4 Support if you are on a lower version.
There are two options to choose from here:
Option 1: Default Printer by EMPLOYEE - Can use IP or USB. This improves the ability to utilize Glass across a site by directing printing to existing USB printers and simplifies printer configuration (by eliminating the need to set up a specific IP printer for each Glass if all users have a Default Glass Printer set).
Option 2: Default Printer By DEVICE - Must use an IP printer. This setup will create one printer record per SkyTab Glass device (duplicate records can utilize the same IP address). If you have more than one receipt printer, you can choose which printer you would like to use for each Glass device using this procedure.
Notes:
- SkyTab Glass requires a local POS WiFi network.
- You may need manager permissions to complete either setup.
- Both options can be combined to allow the SkyTab Glass to still print if no Default Printer is set at the employee level
Option 1: Default Printer by Employee
How to Configure from SkyTab POS:
- Navigate to Manager > Settings > Users > Employees.
- Select the employee you wish to set this for.
- Select the dropdown for Default Glass Printer (or Default Tableside Printer if configuring from a SkyTab Workstation).
- Choose a printer from the list.
- This employee will now send all printed receipts to the selected printer by default when using ANY SkyTab Glass device.
How to Configure from LBM:
- Sign in to Lighthouse Business Manager (LBM).
- Navigate to Workforce> Employees.
- Select the employee you wish to set this for.
- Select the dropdown for Tableside Printer.
- Choose a printer from the list.
- This employee will now send all printed receipts to the selected printer by default when using ANY SkyTab Glass device.
Note: On SkyTab Glass, this setting will show as Default Glass Printer. On Workstations / LBM, this will show as Default Tableside Printer.
Internal:
Planned Enhancements - This is an iterative step, part of a larger set of improvements related to printing defaults and redirects, by Employee from SkyTab Glass. Future improvements are on the roadmap.
