Payment Setup for the Tablet

Description: Once you have set up your receipt printer, connect the Tablet to the printer. If you have not connected the printer to the network, you should do so before continuing with this setup.

Set Payment Reader

1. Navigate to Manager > Settings > Hardware.
2. Tap on the Pin Pad tab.
3. Select Onboard Reader from the dropdown if it is not selected, and select Ok.
4. If your Tablet will be used with a guest-facing tip prompt, toggle on Prompt for Tips.
5. Tap Save.

Assign Receipt Printer to the Tablet

1. Tap on the Printers tab in Hardware Settings.
   • If you were logged out, go to Manager > Settings > Hardware, then tap on Printers.
2. Select your receipt printer from the Printers list on the left.
3. Tap the Edit Printer Setup button.
   
4. On the Edit Printer screen, verify and configure the following:
   • The printer should be set to IP.
   • Under Assigned Station, select the Terminal Number associated with your Tablet. You can find the Terminal Number in the upper right of your Tablet, as shown in the image.
     
     
5. When you have completed the configuration, tap Save.

If you would like to use your Tablet as a guest-facing device to prompt for tips on the device, continue to the next step. If not, the payment configuration is complete.

Configure Tip Hints for Receipts

1. Tap on the Printers tab in Hardware Settings.
   • If you were logged out, go to Manager > Settings > Hardware, then tap on Printers.
2. Select your Receipts printer from the list on the left.
3. Enter values for each of the Tip Hints as shown in the image, then tap Save.

Tips Settings for Business

To ensure tip prompts work properly or are disabled on individual devices:

1. Navigate to Manager > Settings > Business > Advanced.
2. Verify the following toggles are set properly:
   • "Allow Tips Globally" is toggled ON
   • "Finalize Credit Card Payments Immediately With No Tip" is toggled OFF
3. If you changed the settings, tap Save.

Configure Credit Tender

1. Go to Manager > Settings > Payments.
2. Select Credit from the list of Tenders.
3. Toggle "Prompt for Tip on Payment Device" to ON.
4. Tap Save.

Verify Tip Prompts are Disabled on External PIN Pad(s)

1. Navigate to Manager > Settings > Hardware > Pin Pad.
2. If you need to disable tips on the device, set the "Prompt for Tips" toggle to OFF.
   Unless otherwise needed, you must verify that this setting is OFF for an external PIN Pad attached to a Workstation.
3. Tap Save once you are finished.
   
   Note: Repeat this step ONLY at each station with a payment device.
