Charge a Ticket to a Room on SkyTab POS (Property Management ONLY)

Description: Learn how to charge a ticket to a room on SkyTab POS. You can send room charges to your Property Management System from SkyTab POS when someone pays for a meal or other services on your property, provided your system has been set up to do so.

Important: This process is ONLY for SkyTab POS locations that have been integrated with a Property Management System. If your system has not been integrated and configured properly, you are unable to use this process.

The easiest way to verify the proper configuration is to go to the Order tab and look for the Room button at the bottom. If the Room button is not there, your system has not been properly integrated to send room charges.

Before a ticket can be successfully charged to a room, you must perform a room check. The room check can be performed while entering the ticket or during the payment process.

Perform a Room Check During Ordering

1. On the Order Screen in SkyTab POS, press the Room button toward the lower right of the screen.

2.  Enter the Room Number in the field provided, then tap Lookup.
   
   

3. Verify the Guest name associated with the room number. 
   

4. If the information is correct, press Continue.
   
   This attaches the room number to the ticket. You still need to complete the payment on SkyTab POS after doing the room check.

Perform a Room Check During Payment

1. On the Payments Screen, select the Room Charge tender, then tap on the blue button beneath the number pad to take the payment.
   
   Depending on your configuration, your tender for room charges may be called something else.

2. Enter the Reference Number in the field provided. This is typically the room number unless you configured something else during setup.
   

3. Tap Lookup.

4. Verify the Guest name associated with the room number. 
   

5. If the information is correct, press Continue.
   
   This attaches the room number to the ticket. You still need to complete the payment on SkyTab POS after doing the room check.
