Description: Learn how to add a gratuity to a ticket on SkyTab POS. Gratuities are used in situations where a location wants to ensure that staff are tipped appropriately, usually for large parties.
You will need special permissions to be able to add a gratuity to a ticket. Unlike a tip, a gratuity can be set up to apply to a ticket automatically based on the number of guests on a ticket.
To add a gratuity to a ticket:
- Log in to SkyTab POS.
- Create a new ticket or open an existing ticket.
- With the ticket open, tap the kebab menu (3 dots) from the upper right corner.
- Tap Gratuities.
- Choose the desired gratuity from the list.
- Tap Ok to apply the gratuity.
- Verify the ticket updates correctly.
Remove a Gratuity
- To remove a gratuity from the ticket:
- With the ticket open, tap the kebab menu.
- Select Gratuities.
- Deselect the applied gratuity.
- Tap OK to confirm.
- Verify the ticket updates correctly.
Apply Gratuity Automatically
Create a ticket, then start adding guests. As soon as the number of guests reaches a predefined guest count, a gratuity will be automatically applied.
Alternatively, you can start creating a ticket from Host Mode and specify the amount of guests there.
Gratuity Payment
If your location wants to pay gratuities from a cash drawer at the end of each shift, you will need to adjust the "Gratuities Are Paid As Wages" setting in your Business settings.
Gratuity Functionality for Split Tickets
If gratuity is applied for the ticket and the ticket is split, the gratuity will automatically apply for split tickets, regardless of the guest count. The best course of action would be to remove unnecessary guests from the original ticket before using the ticket split function.
