What is causing this Message?
When logging into SkyTab POS, you are automatically prompted to upgrade to the new SkyTab software that includes a new Employee Dashboard.
How do I resolve this Message?
You must select Ok and proceed with the upgrade. This is to notify you of the new Cash Handling by Job Type setting. It is strongly recommended to review this new setting for each Job Type to ensure that the Job setting for Cash Handling meets your expectations. This setting can be found by going to Manager > Settings > Users > Jobs.
When enabling the End of Shift series of enhancements, a specific data migration happens to move your existing settings for Cash Drawer permissions from Employee to Job level.
This migration specifically does the following in order:
- Set all Jobs to “Cash Drawer” for cash handling job permission.
- Any job that has the “Use Personal Till/Use Employee Bank” permission set to “Employee Bank” Cash Handling setting.
- Any job that is configured as “Time Clock Mode” for the “Login” type job setting gets configured as “None” for the Cash Handling setting.
This ensures that existing Jobs using Employee Bank maintain their existing setting and any job NOT set for Employee Bank is set to Cash Drawer. It also ensures that any time clock only employees are set to "None" for cash handling.
