Description: Favorite Groups allow users to select groups of menu items to be the first displayed on the item grid in Activate. Favorite Groups improve the speed of service by making it easier for cashiers to find the items they sell most. Favorite Groups are especially useful when there is a large number of items on the menu. Learn how to build a Favorite Group in Connect by reading further.
Create a Favorite Group

Select the Favorite Groups icon under the Items section on the Corporate Dashboard.

Select the blue Create button.

Name the Favorite Group, and choose a number for the priority level.
- The priority level determines what Favorite Group will take precedence over another.
- A Favorite Group with priority level 1 will take precedence over one with priority level 2.
- Select Save to add the new Favorite Group.
- The newly created Favorite Group will populate in the list.
Assign Items
Once the group has been added items can be assigned, and the Order then will appear in the item grid in Activate can also be adjusted.

Click anywhere on the row of the Favorite Group to open and edit.
- Select the Assigned items tab.

Select the blue Add Items button to see a list of available items.

Note: Only items programmed at the Enterprise level will appear.

- Find items for the favorite group by scrolling, or search by typing the item name in the search bar.

Select Assign next to an item to assign to the Group.
- After the items are assigned, they will populate in the list of assigned items.
- Reorder the items by clicking and dragging the triple bar on the left of the item or update the value under Order.

Remove an item from the Favorite Group by selecting the three dots on the right and then selecting Delete.

After making any changes, always select the blue Save Changes button, and wait for the green confirmation message to be sure the changes were successful.
Assign Venues and Vendors
In order for a Favorite Group to work in Activate, the venues and vendors where the group will be used need to be assigned.
Note: Items need to be assigned to the venues and vendors as well before they will show up in the Favorite Group in Activate.
- Click anywhere on the row of the Favorite Group to open and edit.
- Select the Assigned Venues tab.
- Select Add Venue.
- Select Assign next to a venue to assign to the Group.
- Select the Assigned Vendors tab.
- Select Add Vendor.
- Select Assign next to a vendor to assign to the Group.
Now that the Favorite Group is created and assigned items, venues, and vendors, the group will appear in Activate.
