View Shift4 Dine Settings
View Shift4 Dine settings by selecting the Employee name in the top left corner of the checklist screen, then select the Settings section by pressing on it.
The settings section is split into different categories, which can be modified in the Shift4 Dine Customer Hub. Settings that can be modified in the Shift4 Dine device itself are Business, Guests, Ordering, Checks, and Demo Mode.
Business Settings
- Logout after inactivity: when enabled, the Shift4 Dine device will automatically log the employee out of the device if it exceeds the selected duration.
- Logout after payment: when enabled, the Shift4 Dine device will automatically log the employee out of the device once the payment has been processed.
Guest Settings

Enable ID check: When enabled, Shift4 Duo adds additional security measures to verify the customer’s age.
Note: The Shift4 One application is required for this setting to work.
To use the Check ID feature from the ticket screen by:
- Tap the user name in the top left.
- Select ID Check.
- Scan the customer's driver's license barcode.
- If over 21, the top bar of the screen will turn green; if under 21, the bar will turn red.
Ordering Settings
- Quick Service: when enabled, the Shift4 Dine device will bypass table selection and party size.
- Hide “Send” button: when enabled, the Shift4 Dine device will remove the send button to take the payments right after taking the order.
- New check behavior: gives the option to change ticket behavior from Table list to Custom ticket name.
Checks Settings
- Check List Layout: Gives the option to choose the type of check layout between Order Number and Table Name.
- Print QR code on guest checks: When enabled, Shift4 Dine will print out the QR code.
Tips Settings
- Contains Tips suggestions, a tip screen & force tip settings. None of these settings can be modified on the Shift4 Duo device; it has to be done via Customer Hub.
Payments Settings
- Contains partial payment flow, cash tender type and signature capture settings. None of these settings can be modified on a Shift4 Duo device, it has to be done via Customer Hub.

- Contains Shift4 Duo device information and Shift4 Duo application release notes.
Demo Mode Settings

Allows you to use Shift4 Duo functionally without creating live orders.
Note: Make sure the demo mode is disabled when taking live orders. No payment information will be reported while in Demo mode.
