Duplicators
Duplicators duplicate a phone line. Essentially, it duplicates one phone signal to multiple signals. Although these duplicators pictured perform the same function, the connector on the back is different.
- A quick way to tell the difference between a duplicator and a splitter is the wires.
- A duplicator has four wires, and a splitter has two.

Splitters
A Splitter splits one connection into multiple connections.
- Useful when you have two lines on one phone cable that needs to be split for the caller ID unit to work properly.
- A quick reference would be to look at the wires in the device.
