Prerequisite: At least one L1400 needs the print utility for SNBC pushed from PAX.
The printer must be connected to the network to accept firmware push (the USB can be put back in place after the upgrade).
The currently approved firmware is 1.15. Visit the link below to download the firmware:
BTP-S80_FV1150_POSASV20_MAIN_T00.JK
This file is small enough to be uploaded via Air Viewer; once uploaded, it will be in the root of the L1400.
It may also be copied into a download folder via USB (it cannot be multiple folders deep).
Update the Firmware on the S80 Printer
- Once connected to the network, launch Printer Utility on the L1400.
- Select the “+” (plus sign) in the top right.
- Select Ethernet cable, and you will see the S-80.
- Choose connect on the far right of the printer name.
- Select DownLoad.
- Choose Select, navigate to L1400, scroll to the bottom, and the file should be visible (in this step, you need to select it).
- Before pushing Send, be sure the printer is powered on with no error or paper lights.
- Send firmware by pushing Send and watch the progress indicator until it shows complete.
Note: The indicator should display 100% when the process is completed.
Warning: Do not unplug or power off until completed. - Power cycle printer, run a self test to verify the firmware version.
- If the printer is still in “Windriver” mode (viewable under the USB interface in self-test), follow the guide to use the soft switches to set the USB to “API mode.”
Note: Changing modes can be done before or after firmware upgrade as it retains the setting. The power supply supplied with the S-80 MUST be used (Output 24V 2.5A), or the printer can randomly shut off in API mode.
