Credit / Debit Payment Support on SkyTab POS (Canada/Europe)

Debit Payment (Separate Tender Type)

Supported Devices and Versions

• SkyTab POS: Debit tender type is available starting from version 1.112.4+ (released only to merchants in Canada).
• Customer-Facing Display (CFD): Supports debit payments from version 2.8.4+, requiring SkyTab version 1.112.3.
• SkyTab Mobile: Supports Debit as a payment option from version 3.10.0+.

POS Terminal

• You must select a separate tender type to process Debit transactions instead of Credit.
  
• Select the Debit tender for debit cards and the Credit tender for credit cards. If the wrong card is used, selecting Debit with a credit card or selecting Credit with a debit card will result in an error: “Payment is not allowed. Please try another tender or payment method.”
• If the insert card method is used, the customer is presented with a Checking/Savings prompt before entering the PIN.

Customer-Facing Display

1. A transaction is performed with a total of $7.00.
    
2. Tap the credit card on the reader.
   
3. Choose to pay from Checking or Savings.
4. Enter the PIN using the keypad and select Enter.
   

SkyTab Mobile

1. Select the Debit Card tender type.
   
2. If it prompts, choose a tip and select Continue.
   
3. Tap or insert the card into the reader.
   
4. Choose to pay from Checking or Savings.

Credit / Debit Payment (System-Detected Credit or Debit)

Supported Devices and Versions

• SkyTab POS: Starting from version 1.118.0+ 
• Customer-Facing Display (CFD): Starting from version 2.11.0+
• SkyTab Mobile: Starting from version 3.28.4+.
• BroadPOS Lite: Starting from version 1.03.07E

Tender Type Settings in Lighthouse Business Manager (LBM)

The payment settings have been updated to include a new option: "Credit / Debit," which now joins the existing Debit and Credit options.

POS Terminal

1. Select the Credit / Debit tender type.
   
2. Payment is processed through the A35 PIN Pad or CFD.
3. The Credit / Debit tender type is identified by the card the customer is using.
4. If a Debit card is used, the customer may be prompted to select a checking or savings account before entering the PIN.

Note: Debit transactions will be automatically declined if the POS operates in offline mode.

Customer-Facing Display

1. A transaction is performed with a total of $7.00.
    
2. Tap the Debit or Credit card on the reader.
   
3. If a Debit card is used, the customer may be prompted to select a checking or savings account before entering the PIN.
   

SkyTab Mobile

1. Select the Credit / Debit tender type.
   
2. If it prompts, choose a tip and select Continue.
   
3. Tap or insert the card into the reader.
   
4. Choose to pay from Checking or Savings.
   

How Tender Type Appears in Reporting

Payments processed with a card are now automatically identified as Credit or Debit based on the card used; no manual selection is needed.

This tender type is reflected in reporting, allowing you to distinguish between Credit Card and Debit Card transactions for better accuracy in reconciliation and analysis.
