Discount Type Purchase Rules enable flexible discounting options that can be applied manually or automatically under specific conditions, such as purchasing certain items or meeting a minimum spend threshold. These discounts help increase sales, encourage specific item purchases, and reward customer behavior.

Discount Type Purchase Rules allow you to configure discounts that apply when customers meet predefined conditions. Discounts can be:

• Percentage-based (e.g., 10% off)
• Fixed-dollar (e.g., $5 off)
• Applied at the item level or ticket level

Common use cases include:

• Buy One Get One (BOGO): Customers buy a qualifying item to get another at a discount.
  • Example: Buy one ice cream sundae, get another free
    
• Spend X, Get Y Off: Customers spend a minimum amount to earn a discount.
  • Example: Spend $50, get $5 off
    

Note: Discount Type Purchase Rules cannot reduce an item or ticket below $0.

These rules give you more control over when discounts apply, ensuring promotions run smoothly and align with your business goals.
