Verify and Adjust Microphone Input Settings

1. Select the Start button (Windows logo) at the bottom of your screen.
2. Select Settings > System.
   
3. Select Sound.
4. Scroll to the Input section, under Choose a device for speaking or recording, select your preferred microphone from the dropdown list.
   
5. Speak into your microphone and watch the Input volume indicator bar.

If the microphone is working correctly, the input bar will move as you speak.

To adjust sensitivity:

Use the Input volume slider to increase or decrease the microphone volume as needed.

Troubleshooting Tips

If your microphone is not working:

• Confirm the correct microphone is selected under Settings > System > Sound > Input.
• Make sure the microphone is not muted using a hardware switch.
• Unplug and reconnect the microphone.
• Restart the computer.

If the microphone still does not appear or respond:

• Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone.
• Ensure Microphone access is turned On.
