What is causing this Error?
On the Workstation, the Marketplace settings require proper mapping of tax, surcharge, and order types. If any of these mappings are later disabled after being configured, it can result in online order rejections. To prevent such issues, the Shift4 Dine Customer Hub no longer allows disabling tax, surcharge, or order type mappings once they have been assigned on the Workstation terminal Marketplace tab. The following steps should be followed if the location is not using Online Ordering.
How do I resolve this Error?
Note: The following steps must be done via the Workstation.
-
Navigate to the Manager > Settings > Business > Marketplace.
Locate which of the settings needs to be adjusted (Tax, Surcharge, Order Type).
- Navigate to the section based on the setting that needs to be adjusted:
- For Tax: Manager > Settings > Payments > Accounting > Taxes
- For Surcharge: Manager > Settings > Payments > Accounting > Surcharges
- For Order Types: Manager > Settings > Orders
- Create a “Dummy” setting that would replace the assigned setting on the Marketplace tab.
- For Tax: visit the Use Accounting Settings article and refer to the "Create or Edit Tax" section.
- For Surcharge: visit the Use Accounting Settings article and refer to the "Create or Edit Surcharge" section.
- For Order Types: visit the Orders Settings article and refer to the "Add / Edit Order Type" section.
- Assign the “Dummy” setting in the Manager > Business > Marketplace settings.
-
After completing these steps, give it some time for the changes to sync with the Customer Hub.
Note: The Workstation must be online for the changes to sync with the Customer Hub. Otherwise, the changes won’t reflect in the Customer Hub until the Workstation comes back online.Once those steps are completed, the Customer Hub will allow making adjustments to the previously assigned settings.
