Description: Learn how to set up loyalty rewards and point-earning rules in the loyalty portal to complete your Shift4 Loyalty configuration.
Note: This feature is currently available only for Pilot users.
Overview
After creating loyalty discounts in Lighthouse Business Manager (LBM), you must configure corresponding rewards and point accrual settings in the loyalty portal. This ensures that loyalty points can be earned and redeemed correctly at the point of sale.
Add or Update Loyalty Rewards
Rewards allow customers to redeem loyalty points for discounts or benefits.
- Log in to LBM.
- Access the loyalty portal.
- In the left navigation menu, expand Loyalty Program.
- Select Settings.
- Select Loyalty Set-up.
Add a New Reward
- From the Loyalty Set-up dropdown, select Reward.
- Select Submit.
- Select Add.
- Enter the required reward details:
- Name: The display name of the reward (e.g., “$10 off discount”).
- Description: Short explanation of the reward.
- Reward Type: Select Points to Reward Conversion.
- Amount: The dollar value of the discount or reward.
- Price: Number of points required to redeem the reward (e.g., 10000 points).
-
Reward Reference: Must match the Reference Code from LBM exactly.
Important:- This connection is what links the loyalty portal reward to the actual discount that will be applied at checkout.
- The Reward Reference field must match character-for-character, including capitalization, symbols, or spacing.
- Example: If your LBM code is 10$OFF, the loyalty portal reward must also be 10$OFF.
- Select Send Update to save.
Edit an Existing Reward
- From the Loyalty Set-up dropdown, select Reward.
- Select Submit.
- Locate and select the reward you want to update.
- Make any necessary changes on the Update Reward page.
- Ensure the Reward Reference remains consistent with LBM if the discount is still active.
- Select Send Update to save changes.
Configure Point Accrual (Points Multiplier)
The points multiplier determines how many loyalty points customers earn on each purchase.
Set Point-Earning Rules
- In the Loyalty Set-up section, locate the Points Multiplier or Point Accrual settings.
- Enter the number of points awarded per dollar spent.
- 1 = 1 point per $1 spent
- 10 = 10 points per $1 spent
- 0.5 = 1 point per $2 spent
- To save your changes, select Send Update.
Best Practices
- Choose a point-earning rate that balances value and achievability.
- Consider your average ticket size before finalizing the multiplier.
- Ensure your reward costs align with typical customer spending habits.
After configuring your loyalty program in LBM and the loyalty portal, you must enable loyalty features on your SkyTab POS.
