Send a Ticket as a Rush & Continue From SkyTab POS to the KDS

Overview

The Rush & Continue feature allows Front of House (FOH) users to send a ticket as a rush order directly from the POS Order Entry screen, prioritizing it on the Kitchen Display System (KDS) without adding extra steps to the workflow.

Availability/Enablement

• Pilot Only
• This feature cannot be enabled by merchants.
• Activation must be completed by SkyTab Support.

How It Works

• FOH users can long-press the Send button in the Order Entry view.
• A new option, Rush & Continue, will appear in the Send menu.
• This option is based on the Job’s Default Send Ticket Action setting:
  • Example: If a Server is set to Send & Continue (Manager > Settings > Users > Jobs > Default Send Tickets Action), an additional option of Rush & Continue will be available. 
    • If a Server is set to Send & Stay, an additional option of Rush & Stay will be available.
• The full action is effectively Send + Rush + Continue, streamlined into a single selection.

Order Behavior

• All unsent items on the ticket are automatically dispatched as a rush.
• There are no visual indicators on the POS before or after sending.
• When the ticket reaches the KDS:
  • A Rush banner is displayed
  • The ticket moves to the highest priority position on the appropriate KDS screen.

Permissions

• This feature is not controlled by a permission set.
• All FOH employees will have access to use the Rush & Continue option once enabled.

Future Enhancements

• A future update will place this feature behind a permission set, so it can be given to specific jobs (i.e., a Manager can see Rush & Continue, but Servers cannot)
• A future update will add Rush options at the item level.
