Is Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) mandatory for customers?

No, customers always have the choice to pay in the local currency instead.

Can all shoppers use Shift4's DCC?

If they have an international Visa or Mastercard credit card, then yes, they can. When paying with their card at participating merchants, they will automatically be given the choice to use Shift4’s DCC.

Is the exchange rate shown before payment?

Yes, the rate and any fees are displayed clearly before the transaction is confirmed.

Do merchants need special equipment?

No. Shift4 works with most modern payment terminals and requires only minimal setup. Shift4 solutions needed include Commerce Engine 2.0 with Verifone and PAX terminals, as well as UTG with supporting Ingenico Tetra family devices.
