What is Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC)
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is a service on payment terminals and websites that allows international customers to pay for their purchases in their own currency.
How DCC Works
When a customer pays with a card issued in a currency different from the merchant’s local currency, the terminal automatically detects the card’s currency.
If the card currency differs from the local currency, the customer is offered the option to pay in either their home currency or the local currency.
The exchange rate and final amount are displayed to the customer before the transaction is completed, providing full transparency and helping to avoid unexpected exchange rate differences.
The merchant receives the transaction amount in their local currency, with no changes to the standard payment process
