Description: Learn how to look up the file versions of commonly used Shift4 (S4) programs.
Begin by navigating to the executable file for the application you are trying to gather the version for, which is listed below for these applications:
- UTG: c:\Shift4\UTG2\Utg2.exe
- Stub: c:\Shift4\utgstub\utgstub.exe
- 4Go: c:\Shift4\4Go\4Go.exe
- Shift4 Bridge: c:\Shift4Interface\Shift4Config.exe
Note: Depending on the setup, this may be installed in a directory other than C:\.
To view the Product Version in Windows, follow the steps below based on your Windows version.
Windows 10 and 11
- Right-click the file and select Properties.
- Go to the Details tab.
- View the "Product Version" entry.
If you're seeking version information to report for PCI audits, ensure you note the full entry 5.X.X.XXXX. However, if you are looking for the Support Build number, this is the last four digits of the installed product version number.
Note: The UTG build can also be found within the merchant’s Slots page of Citadel. (http://citadel/slot=[serialnumber]). Ensure to enter the serial number without the [ ]. Internally, we use only the last four digits of this version to identify the software version (e.g., 4.1.1.3191 would be UTG 3191).
Windows 7 and 8.1
- Right-click the file and select Properties.
- Go to the Details tab.
- The build version is displayed in the File Version entry.
