Configure Your Location for Offline Processing
To use offline processing, your location must process payments through Shift4. This feature has been turned on by default for all MIDs boarded after April 13, 2022. Since each location differs in terms of the maximum amount per transaction it is willing to accept, you may need to adjust the transaction limit manually to meet the needs of your location:
- Navigate to Manager > Settings > Business > Advanced on your POS.
- Set the Offline Processing Limit to a value your location feels comfortable with. (The default value is $1000.00)
- Tap Save when you are done.
Manually Restore Your Device's Connection
If your device is in the midst of a 30-minute window during which attempts to establish a connection have been shut off, you can force the device online by selecting the Go Online option from the Payments section of the Notification Center - Operational Status window.
Adjust Tips or Perform Voids
You may perform Tip Adjustments and Voids while in offline mode, but you must be at the terminal that received the payment. The POS will alert you if you use the wrong terminal.
