When the internet connection is lost, Shift4 Dine will attempt to process any offline transactions every 30 minutes. If the first attempted online transaction fails, offline mode will remain active, and Shift4 Dine will wait another 30 minutes before attempting payment again.
If an offline transaction is successfully processed, Shift4 Dine will return to Online Payments mode and begin processing offline transactions in the background.
IN PILOT
For Pilot merchants on v1.111.1 and up, Shift4 Dine will now perform a check with the gateway every 10 minutes. If the check is unsuccessful, Shift4 Dine will remain in Offline Payments mode. Otherwise, Shift4 Dine will return to Online Payments and begin processing offline transactions in the background.
