Description: Retail Mode is a feature where items no longer display prices or images. Instead, there is a search box to type the name or barcode of an item and select it from a list. Employees can also scan a barcode to add that item to the cart.
Retail Mode is most convenient in locations where there is a large number of items as it cuts down on the time it takes to load and browse through the item icons.
Note: Retail Mode is optional and can be enabled via Show Retail Mode in Permissions Sets on the Main View tab.
How to add items to the cart
To search for a specific item, type in a keyword or variations of the word into the search box (Ex: 'shirt,' 'jersey' or 'hat') and select Return/Done.
Barcode Scans
If an item has a barcode assigned to it, then it can be typed into the search box or scanned.
Note: Barcodes must be added to the Items within Connect on the Codes tab.
- If a scan is successful when using the USB barcode reader, the item is found and automatically added to the cart.
- If a scan is unsuccessful when using the USB barcode reader and there are no matches, a 'No Matching Barcodes' error message appears.
Multiple Items
If there are multiple items found for the search results, all appear in a list below the search box (see photo below). Tap the specific item or items to add to the cart.
If there are no items matching the search, the message 'No matching items found' will appear.
